When we began envisioning our adventure, we knew we wanted to buy bikes to not only supplement our transportation needs but also to provide exercise and entertainment. Thankfully (?) we had plenty of time to research different options.

Jason came upon a few videos and articles about e-bikes - we were immediately hooked! I was especially excited about the option to ride my bike even on "bad bone days" when my mobility is greatly impacted. After additional research, we landed on the bikes offered by Lectric eBikes -

.

When placing our order on August 31st, the bikes were not set to deliver until sometime in October. Not knowing where we would be around that time (and certainly not knowing we would actually be closing on our NY house at the time of shipping 🤦‍♀️), we enlisted the help of dear friends Frank and Paula. They graciously allowed us to ship the ebikes to their home and wait until we were in their area to pick them up. On November 10th - success!!

While not a flattering pic, you can tell from our smiles that it was great to see and spend time with my friend Paula!!

Now to the bikes - oh my goodness!! Where to start? Jason, of course, could relay all the technical specifications - the biggest being the Pedal Assist System (PAS). I, however, will just share my experience in using the bike.

As we previously shared, we have been staying in RV parks as we continue to settle into our new home. The highlight (and yes, life is simple and beautiful right now) was when I strapped our laundry basket onto the back of my bike, gently turned the throttle to get going, then leisurely pedaled to gain a speed of 8 mph. Boom - from home site to laundry facilities in less than a minute! Ahhhh.....I hadn't enjoyed riding a bike and feeling that fresh-air freedom like that since I first had my training wheels removed at age 5. Every time I jump on this bike I become dang-near giddy while riding! I canNOT wait to get these babies out on some National Park trails!

Here they are - still formulating names (because, yes, I like to name everything I own 🤣). Jason's is the black one and mine is white.

Keep an eye out and follow us on Instagram for more "action pics"! Hit us up with questions/comments about the bikes (or anything else for that matter). Thanks for subscribing!!

Dana and Jason.... long time no see....not since your wedding....anyway Janet has been talking about e bikes for the past 3 or 4 months. I assume that both of you love yours....what can you tell me about them ...what kind of problems if any...how long the battery last...you know the normal stuff. Personally I'm not fond of the look of the ones you have but that's just me. Janet likes them because they are cheap...and she is the queen of cheap. talk to you later
