Jason and I are excited to share with you our recent "happenings"!

After finalizing some "errand-focused" destinations (as related in previous blogs), we headed further south within New Mexico to beautiful Albuquerque for a few days. While there, as rabid Breaking Bad fans, we HAD to stop by the Candy Lady shop in Old Town. Quite an eclectic shop with everything from traditional fresh-made candies and chocolates to the less-than-traditional display of um...how do I say this..."candy for adults". Check out their website at www.thecandylady.com! Our favorite part of visiting this cute candy shop was the opportunity to purchase "blue sky" and have our pic taken - note the aprons. Jason had to purchase one for his use lol!

Continuing our time in Old Town, we ate at the amazing Hacienda del Rio. OMG....I love love love green chile but our waitress was not joking when she said that day's fresh batch was rather hot. No kidding, I thought, as my nose ran and sweat beads popped out of my pores in previously unknown spaces. Sooooo good!

We meandered through the various gift shops and realized we don't have a solid way to "memorialize" our site visits. Previously we utilized magnets or shot glasses. Well we don't have room for a shot glass collection and our fridge door panels are not magnetic. Ugh...! Fortunately, we found a DIY project that we can do to magnetize our fridge door (more to come on THAT haha) so Jason discovered a beautiful magnet and it is currently on our range hood.

While in ABQ, we also took advantage of the local Container Store and FINALLY came up with a solid plan for clothes storage in our "closets". Shirts on top and pants on the bottom. MUCH better than the free-for-all that was the previous strategy lol.

From Albuquerque, we had planned to venture south to Las Cruces, but our snowbird friends seem to have monopolized many decent sites. Therefore, PIVOT, we head southeast-ish to Alamogordo.

Wow, if you all haven't been in this area, you should stop by. Nestled in the beautiful Tularosa Basin within the Chihuanhuan Desert, this little city is a gem. Any amenity you could wish for, but also spread out to create a smaller town feel. While in Alamogordo thus far, we have visited Heart of the Desert Pistachios and Wine! I LOVE pistachios and the fact these are regionally grown and processed was awesome. Of the many flavors to choose from I selected Garlic and Green Chile. Yum yum!!

Below are some other pics of our ventures in both cities. We hope weather will cooperate and give us a chance to visit the White Sands National Monument before we leave Alamogordo. Stay tuned!

On this day of Thanksgiving, we are overcome with gratitude for all of the many blessings we have in our lives - including all of you. Last night before bed, I had my usual conversation with God and began listing the many things for which I'm grateful...and actually fell asleep before I could finish. :) Life is good and we are blessed. We hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving and remain focused on the things in life for which to be grateful!!

Thanks for reading and remember to follow us on "Insta, the Twitta, and FB"!
