How did we get here?

For our entire relationship, Jason and I have churned toward accomplishing professional and educational goals. Despite successfully achieving said goals, we realized we were simply existing and not living. We asked ourselves...could our lives look different than they do today?

And guess what? They can! We decided to exit the corporate world and embark on a mobile lifestyle..."just being" as Jason calls it. :) The decision was easy but required a lot of work over the past few months to be prepared. Here are the key steps we took to progress toward the next phase of our lives.

Step 1: Go through every single material item owned. (Now, keep in mind, we live in a four bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home on 2.5 acres. Translation - we had A LOT of stuff.) For each item, decide whether to keep (store) it, donate it, sell it, toss it, or take it on the road. We found that going room by room worked best for us. And I will admit, while liberating in some ways, the process was also emotionally exhausting.

Step 2: Get current home on the market. This required the completion of some remodeling projects but we got 'er done and listed our house on June 10th.

Step 3: Determine what your new home will be. :) For us, we decided on a 26' travel trailer and upgraded our main vehicle to something that would provide peace of mind while on the road. Being newbies at this, we wanted to remove any unnecessary angst associated with towing.

There were obviously other things to consider and prepare for this journey. But once we decided to become full-time RVers, we knew this is right for us.

Right now, we're "patiently" waiting for the house to sell while fine-tuning arrangements related to finances, medical care, and next steps after the close date.

Check back periodically for updates! We are new to blogging so please be patient with us. And, please, feel free to leave comments/questions on our site by clicking
