Hi friends and family! We have been busy, enjoying and exploring Texas. One big piece of news we wanted to share is we have decided to COMMIT to the RV life (or, as we call it, "intentional relocating" 🤓)! No foreseeable future "sticks and bricks" home for us.

While we loved our Cougar travel trailer (Leigh), it was evident we needed/wanted a bit more space to live. So.....we began the SEARCH for a new home. Interestingly, we were stationed in San Angelo for a bit, then moved further south into Hill Country and landed in Kerrville - about 2 1/2 hrs. away. It was in Kerrville where we decided to commit.

We decided to go with a fifth wheel setup. To do that, we needed a larger tow vehicle. Jason did his research and found a 2020 RAM 3500.....in San Angelo - 2 1/2 hrs. back where we came from! 🤦 While he was doing that, I was researching the fifth wheel. We found a 2021 Jayco North Point.....in San Angelo!! Lol!

Our time in Kerrville proved fortuitous, however, because we had the opportunity to meet some new neighbors/friends - Russ and Char. They owned a newer North Point and graciously allowed us to walk through their home to get an idea of craftsmanship, etc.

Russ was also a WEALTH of helpful information as we looked to transition from towing a travel trailer to pulling a fifth wheel. Tips and tricks, things to look out for, personal experiences (and mistakes) - all proved to help inform our decisions. Thank you Russ! 😃

A bit about our new truck - her name is Belle (since we purchased her in Texas). She is the Tradesman model meaning we gave up a bit in technological bells and whistles but we gained a ton (pun intended 😉) of towing and cargo capacity. Easy pro/con decision to make!

The truck was a former display model at rodeos throughout Texas so it had some miles already but untitled and considered new, this allowed us to get a great deal on it. As an added bonus, when researching the factory build sheet we discovered she was outfitted with the High Output version of the Cummins Diesel engine - 400 HP and 1,000 lb. ft. of torque - this was surprising considering it was the Tradesman model.

Enough about Belle...on to the new fifth wheel - Beau.

Below is a dealer produced video that we thought was well done and informative

Goodbye Leigh and hello Beau!!!

Moving Day...

We are super happy campers (literally) and loving our new rig! Stay tuned for more blogs as we make some immediate additions/upgrades to Beau....and a repair 😒
