Okay! So Jason and I arrived in Sioux Falls on Sunday. The grand plan was to hit the to-do list first thing Monday. What was on the list you ask? In a very prescribed order were the following:
Obtain receipt from hotel showing both our names and our payment for one night's stay (necessary to establish residency)
Take receipt and other necessary documentation to DMV to obtain driver's licenses (DLs) in SD
Use DLs to open bank account
Use DLs to secure vehicle insurance
Use DLs to register our truck (Arty) in SD
Recognize the domino effect beginning with the hotel receipt? Yeah, that was where the wheels came off first thing in the morning. 🤦
So....we had to adapt and improvise (we sense this will be a recurring theme on our journey!) and make do with what we could when. Instead of a clear, prescriptive march through Monday, we somewhat zigged and zagged and finally ended the day with 4 out of 5 tasks completed.

Then began today, Tuesday. We were all happy with our little selves as we walked into the court administration building to register Arty. Only to get in line and find out that the printers in the Treasurer's department weren't working and our registration could not be fully completed. Okay fine - improvise again - we plan to return tomorrow to finalize vehicle registration.
But wait! What was the biggest adaptation we had to make in the past 48 hrs?? Um, yeah, the RV we had been tracking for several weeks and planning to purchase here in Sioux Falls was SOLD...yesterday (yup, you read that right).
Okay, no biggie.....it isn't like this is our new home or anything...um, oh yes it is!
But it all worked out! My man did some very impressive negotiating between RV dealers and we have secured (yes SECURED) our new home. We just have to travel to Columbia, Missouri to get it! Yay another road trip! And heading south even! For the price for which we are getting our new home, we are ecstatic to make the journey in a couple of days!!
Sioux Falls hasn't been all chaos - we have thoroughly enjoyed spending time and catching up with Jason's father, sister, and nephew!! ❤️❤️ Love to them all!
Stay tuned and thanks for following us! Also check us out on "Insta, Twitta, and FB" 👍😃
